Welcome to the Richmond Police Department homepage. My name is Ciro Cetrangolo and I have the honor and privilege of serving as Chief of Police. The Richmond Police Department is comprised of men and women dedicated to providing the very best law enforcement services to our community.
The Richmond Police Department is staffed by highly trained professionals who are committed to the community oriented policing philosophy. We pride ourselves on the high level of service we provide.
The Village of Richmond is a full service community located on the Northern border of McHenry County. We are home to many great corporations, numerous vibrant shops, a thriving downtown, and many outstanding restaurants that make up Richmond’s unique charm and character. The Police Department partners with these organizations to provide up to date crisis training and collaborative efforts to insure the safety of our residents, workers, and visitors.
Along with our community policing efforts, the Richmond Police Department also works closely with our three award winning schools and provides a full time school resource officer (SRO).
For our many residents in both the newer and historic neighborhoods, we provide free security surveys and our vacation watch program. We also hold our annual widely acclaimed Citizen Police Academy, a quarterly Coffee with the Chief program and hosts National Night Out every year.
Although we are a small agency, we provide our residents and visitors with five-star personalized service. Our agency continues to embrace and utilize the latest tools, training, and technologies to continually increase our standard of care.
The Richmond Police Department provides complete and comprehensive law enforcement services, including patrol, accident and criminal investigations, and enhanced law enforcement services and benefits to our community, such as truck enforcement, evidence technicians, K-9 Unit services, and our extensive community care taking and outreach programs such as Nixle.
Please take a few moments and explore our website. I believe you will see that we continue to strive to live up to our organizational values of Duty, Honor, and Service.
In safety and service,
Chief of Police
